(ooc: Reread my post. I must've been half asleep because seriously... TEN BILLION TYPOS!)
Hearing the instructions, Chayne returned to the ground. This meant she could eat her pumpkin muffin! A rare sparkle in her eye, Chayne slid the muffin out of her sleeve and took a large, highly unladylike bite as she continued to stare at James analyzing the quidditch wannabes. She almost felt odd doing so, not because she was thoroughly observing James, but because she was thoroughly observing James without him knowing. And it wasn't that she hadn't done that before, either. It was just that there seemed something so average about watching him, perhaps because everyone else was too. Huh.
Chayne shrugged and continued staring.
.....................................
Yasu nodded. Hufflepuff never really seemed to have an impressive team especially after their old team captain left a few years ago, and Slytherin had lost their good keeper and had to find a new one last year, which hadn't gone so well for them.
Usually, Yasu would've eagerly watched Cael eat the bean to see if her cooking sense had once again succeeded, as usual, but then she heard James instructing the first people to audition.
Yasu whirled her head around to stare at James as he called out to the potential beaters. He was still fully clothed... that was concerning... and extremely infuriating in a not-so-serious-and-yet-still-very-important way. Yasu wouldn't hate him for more then an hour, but she most certainly was mad that she didn't get to stare at a shirtless James.
She wondered if she should remedy that.
"Did I miss much?" Yasu had started to think of her question while watching a highly attractive guy stretch to whack at a bludger, but Tessa's voice pulled her free. The petite girl with her head full of black ringlets and light chocolatey skin was standing there smiling sweetly at Yasu and Cael.
"Just warm-up laps. The action begins now though, starting with Hot Shot goin' for the high bludger. You know Cael?" Yasu asked, trying to keep one eye on Mr. Hottie while gesturing to the Ravenclaw prefect for Tessa to meet.
"Well I've seen you. Hi, I'm Tessa," Tessa greeted, sitting down beside Yasu and offering a small wave to Cael.
"Greetings? At a time like this! Tessa, there's going to be shirtless men today and you're trying to introduce yourself to a fully clothed one?" Yasu teased, energized.

James nodded to himself as he watched the prospective Beaters smack the Bludgers across the pitch. He took note of one boy in particular, a fifth year who managed to hit a Bludger right through the goal hoop. After a few minutes of the free-for-all James called them to a halt, mentally choosing the boy who had hit the Bludger through the hoop, Zachary Binks. With another wave of his wand, he sent the Bludgers back to the chest they were stored in, and brought out the Quaffle.
"Keepers next!" he shouted to the students gathered on the ground. With a grin directed towards where he imagined Yasu to be sitting, he began to pull off his shirt.
--
Cael smiled at the Gryffindor girl politely, and rolled his eyes at Yasu. "I'm Cael." he introduced himself, even if it was a bit redundant since Yasu had already done it for him. "I could take my shirt off, but I wouldn't want to be the cause of a riot." Cael said in a deadpan in reply to Yasu.

Chayne knew of James' sociable nature and confidence, but she knew the work of Yasu when she saw it, and the action of his hands gripping the bottom of the shirt and pulling upwards had Yasu written all over it in thick permanent marker.
She wondered if it would affect the female population trying out, or the couple of gays she knew Gryffindor had.
..............................
Yasu was still watching intently, eying man meat and butterflies who had yet to dispose of their shirts. James! And then, as luck would have it, Cael's statement seemed to fall into place right along side James' stripping.
A cheshire grin, deadlier than a goblin's or a tricky pixie's, slid onto Yasu's glowing face. "One's already started, Cupid," she informed him, standing up to send a wolf whistle into the air. High on happiness, she let herself fall back into her seat, leaning back to appreciate the view, though she tried to send one eye after Cael. "So taking off your shirt? Sounds great. Please continue." Her grin was less boisterous towards Cael, knowing he didn't handle her humor quite as well as James did, though Cael's reactions were often more enjoyable.
Tessa rolled her eyes, face pink and now buried in a sketchbook which she occasionally glanced up from to eye something. It seemed she was going to go with the 'tolerate the crazy chick' method.

James laughed at the looks on the faces of the Gryffindor would-be Keepers. He mouthed the words "Lost a bet" at them, most of whom then rolled their eyes. He motioned for them to continue, draping his shirt over the back of his broom while he watched them try to keep the Quaffle from making its way through the goal posts. -- Cael looked up at Yasu's comment, and watched James pull off his shirt. "What in Merlin's name is he doing?" he asked (mostly himself), somewhat indignantly. He frowned as Yasu wolf-whistled, and didn't respond, glaring up at James.
He wasn't angry, exactly. Well, he was. It was..complicated. He was irritated because the entire gathered throng of people now got to stare at his shirtless boyfriend, while all he could do was glower and think 'MINE' as loudly as possible. But he was also (a smaller part of him, but there nonetheless) pleased, because that meant he got to stare at his shirtless boyfriend. Catch-22, really. He settled for planning his revenge of sorts, while continuing to watch the tryouts.

Cael was definitely ignoring Yasu now, probably trying to figure out how to deal with the situation of his shirtless boyfriend being revealed to all the world, while at the same time enjoying the fact that he was shirtless. Since James was not Yasu's, she didn't have this dilemma.
"Fine. Don't answer. I'm happy with what I've got," she replied with a grin, pleased to let her eyes slide over James' toned chest. How many abs was he hiding under that shirt, anyway? Yasu leaned forward, realizing this was actually the better way to enjoy the view anyway, and began to narrow her eyes to carefully count. Merlin, she loved this guy's physique. "Such a piece of meat you got for yourself Cael... not that he's only meat, you know he's funny and nice and all that jazz, but man... I do appreciate the male race..." Of course, she fully appreciated the female race, too, but she had her own jaw-dropping curves. These six packs the athletes were boasting were things entirely different and entirely worthy of salivating over.

Cael rolled his eyes at Yasu, still somewhat irritated about the whole situation. He had a plan in mind, though..the corners of his mouth twitched thinking about it. It wasn't particularly malicious, but if it went according to plan it would frustrate James as much as Cael was right now.
"I'm glad you approve of him," Cael said in a deadpan, almost bitingly sarcastic.

Yasu didn't miss the sarcastic edge, and she sent a sad smile over to Cael. "You don't like sharing him," she stated, glancing over at where James was observing the different students try their best to impress him. "But if it means anything at all, he's all yours no matter what the rest of us attempt. Even now you're not really sharing him. His physique? Maybe somewhat, but don't worry. Though, if you were worried there are plenty of ways you could get back at him, which could always be fun." Yasu had heard rumors. She liked to think most of her informants were concrete, but she also liked to get some back-up info. A birdie had told her that a certain Ravenclaw could actually be quite the troublemaker, and while Yasu wouldn't put it past Cael because of his wit and ability, she still wanted some proof.
Maybe he was willing to provide her with some.

Cael bit his lip, feeling his behavior to be irrational. He knew logically that he was overreacting to a degree, and that James could do whatever the hell he wanted, but in the back of his mind there was a petty voice hissing about not wanting to share. As Yasu mentioned ways of getting back at James, a grin slowly spread over his face. "Oh, I plan to." he said, laughing.
--
James shivered on his broomstick, feeling as though someone was talking about him. He shrugged the feeling off, continuing to watch the tryouts.

Yasu arched an eyebrow, intrigued by his tone, before casting a curious glance over at Manmea-Butterfly. The Gryffindor captain seemed to shudder involuntarily, and Yasu's grin managed ot grow wider.
Interesting.
Now, when was her friend going to try out? Yasu looked over at where Chayne had stood moments before observing as usual, though she quickly discovered her friend was no where to be seen. Eyes wide, Yasu began to look around frantically.
And then she looked up.
Hanging upside down, one hand on her broom and the other tightly clutching her pumpkin muffin, Chayne was devouring her snack, legs shifting occasionally to turn the broom in a slow and lazy circle over the Quidditch pitch. Yasu mouthed the word 'Chayne' before giggling to herself. Tessa, curious as well, looked up and spotted Chayne, seemingly bored yet still intently watching everyone fly around as she nibbled at her food. Tessa's eyes lit up and she began to furiously write on her piece of paper that rested in her lap, struck by inspiration it seemed thanks to Chayne's position.

James waved the Gryffindors currently tossing the Quaffle around to land on the pitch; having selected a Keeper and three Chasers from those who had tried. Two of the Chasers had been on the team last year, but the third one and the Keeper were newbies.
"Alright, Seekers!" he called to those on the ground. He got his wand out again, hissing a quick "Accio Snitch!" He really loved magic. So much easier than flying back down to the ground every time he wanted something.

Hearing James call for the Seekers, Chayne adjusted her legs once more to angle her broomstick towards the ground. She shoved the last of her muffin into her mouth and put both hands on the handle so that she wouldn't slide off, and the broomstick began to head for James.
Once Chayne was just above him, she righted her broomstick but continued to hang upside down, allowing her face to drop in front of him to show that she had heard his call, chewing quickly as she did so and swallowing the last of her delicious pumpkin muffin.
Yasu, watching her friend with interest, giggled and pointed. "If I didn't know better I'd insist on a Spiderman moment," she remarked to Cael and Tessa. Tessa smiled and kept writing. "Luckily I do. Now where should I put my necklace?"

Cael rolled his eyes at the 'Spiderman' comment, and shot an incredulous look at Yasu. "I suppose 'around your neck' is too obvious an answer?" he replied.
James jumped back a bit as a girl's face dropped in front of his own. He recognized her as the girl who had been staring at him before, and gave her a somewhat resigned stare. "Hi to you, too. Trying out for Seeker?" he asked her.

Yasu shook her head, forgetting that Cael was not very familiar with Chayne and her ways. "No, no, no, silly Cael. That'll never do. Chayne is used to seeing it there," Yasu informed the Ravenclaw as if that was an obvious statement. She unclasped her golden locket and experimentally began to hold it in either hand, sometimes above her head and other times out over the edge of the stands. "Maybe I'll throw it right in front of her face and she can get it back for me later. Somewhere around here should be fine, but what if she forgets to look?" Chayne had given Yasu very specific instructions, though she hadn't exactly said it outright. Yasu knew that Chayne could try out for just about anything in Quidditch that she wanted, but she would perform best as seeker because of a certain... condition that she had. Because of this, Yasu often caught Chayne staring at her necklace. So this morning when Yasu ran into the silent girl and caught Chayne's purposeful look from the necklace to Yasu's eyes, the more bubbly Gryffindor had instantly known what had to be done.
Speaking of Chayne, the girl nodded at James, staying upside down in front of him for a moment longer before dipping forward again so the broom fell beneath her. She maneuvered herself a few feet away from James to properly receive her instructions along with the other seeker wannabes.

Cael gave her a confused look. "..So you want her to look for it while she's trying out?" he asked. "Isn't that a bit distracting?"
"All right, this is what's going to happen." James addressed the potential Seekers. "Hey--you lot!" he yelled at the Gryffindors who were still hanging around on the ground below. "You're going to be playing a match, so get the Quaffle and the Bludgers and get up here." The Gryffindors scrambled to comply. James returned his attention to the potential Seekers. "And you all," he continued, "are going to be looking for this." He held up the Snitch long enough for them to all get a look at it before he let it go. He grinned. "Good luck."

Yasu nodded. "Just for a sec. She has this love for shiny things. And I mean this mega obsession, where you can hide a sickle in a vault full of every kind of metal imaginable and she can tell you how much of every metal there is and which silver coin is actually a sickle," Yasu explained, remembering when she first learned about her friend's condition. "She's also extremely useful for finding any loose change you have in your really messy room, but more on that later. Usually she does this thing where she's trained herself to turn off her love for shiny stuff unless its a weapon, but she'll be able to find that snitch in seconds if something activates her shiny stuff radar, which is my job. Hm... I think I'll just throw it and get it later." It wasn't like the necklace was her grandmother's or anything. So, Yasu clicked off the necklace and tossed it into the air. Faster than lightning, Chayne's head snapped over to its direction, focusing on it as it fell until the moment it buried itself in the plush grass.
Then her eyes trained on the snitch still held captive in James' hand. It wasn't there long, just enough for a glimpse before it took off, and Chayne lazily urged her broomstick up so she could meander around the edge of the field. if one wasn't looking at her head, a person might think that she was going for a stroll through the air, but her head spoke a different story as it almost robotically shifted from side to side, her wide eyes falling on several shiny objects in the area from one girl's stud earrings to a boy's low quality watch and someone else's braces.
Once everything was accounted for, she knew what to ignore. It didn't take long for her eye to train on glimpses of a familiar golden metallic flitting through the air. Not wanting to let anyone on to her little discovery, Chayne continued her lazy fly through the air, still casting her head about as if searching while keeping her eye on the prize. it seemed to be headed for one of the Slytherin stands, which she slowly banked towards. Hopefully no one noticed her and tried to aim a bludger at her head, or simply get in her way.
