Patronus: butterfly Animagous: golden eagle Sight: no History:
Calix was born as a twin, the second of the two by six minutes. The Lysanders already had two sons named Flavian and Deo due to their strong Greek heritage, and though they loved their son, it was a relief that one of the twins was a girl that they promptly named Theria. Calix lived a pretty average life, as by age five it was clear both he and his sister would not be the first squib in the Lysander family. By age six he was an older brother as Anthea gave birth to Avel and Alexander, her second set of twins, though it was her last pregnancy.
The family lived in Greece, which explained their heritage and Greek names, and because of that Calix allowed himself to drown in ancient Greek mythology, along with his sister. They liked to pretend that they were the twins Apollo and Artemis.
When he was seven, Calix's older brother Flavian went off to Durmstrang, and when he was ten his other brother, Deo, also went to Durmstrang. However, when it came his turn, he was upset to see his sister be separated from him as she had to go to Bouxbatons. She wasn't too pleased either when she was dragged to purchase her pale blue uniform.
Originally, Calix was doomed to go to Durmstrang as well, but in the middle of his Durmstrang student career, he received a letter from his friend saying that he wished Calix could go to Hogwarts. There were both boys and girls there, including his friend's girlfriend Brenna. Calix pondered this briefly, then used his social butterfly skills to persuade his parents to let him go there. And that's where he met Hilda. Over the course of the remainder of his career he fell for her, and even got her to go with him to the Yule Ball.
Calix graduated and took 3 years of Wizardry Community College before getting his job as a Quidditch coach and Flying Teacher at Hogwarts. At age twenty-two Calix went with Hilda and received his animagus license as a golden eagle. He left his testing room and discovered that whoever had been in the room next to his had scarred the Ministry tester of that room. Figures that it was Hilda. He moved in with Hilda when he was twenty-six, as it was her birthday present to him, and then proposed instantly after that and was denied, and unbeknownst to her he then submitted her application so that she became the next Divinations Teacher at Hogwarts so that he could be with her the entire year. This did not please her, so he decided to hold off on trying to propose to her again, but at least she's with him now as the new year at Hogwarts begins.
When he was 19, Calix was made an uncle by his two twin nieces, daughters of his brother Flavian, named August and April. August was also his god-daughter. Two years later he received a third niece, Iraiah. He was god father yet again when at age 23 Deo's wife had twins, Vanessa and Victor, though Victor was the one that Calix was godfather for. At age 25, Calix became an uncle to his second nephew, Myron. When he was 26, Calix was shocked to discover that his sister was now engaged. His nieces Odessa and Calais were also born that year, and Calais was his third god-child. The next year his nephews Ajax, Nicholas, and Alexander were born.
Personality:
If ever a person was the definition of the term 'social butterfly' it would be Calix, who can get along with anyone and everyone, not afraid to approach even the meanest or craziest of folk. The same cannot be said for mean and crazy things. Haunted houses and horror movies, for one, scare him to death, and anything you would consider to be a predictable fear he has. He's sick after looking at small amounts of blood, and he screams whenever he sees a spider. Bugs gross him out, and he's the kind of guy who can't hold his liquor. He loves romance movies, as well as comedy, however. Calix is a natural at most sports, which probably explains why he's the flying teacher and Quidditch coach at Hogwarts. He adores the summertime, hates paperwork, and loves to just be a free spirit who goes on adventures and tries impossible tasks. Calix could easily be considered an optimist who always persists, is very determined, and will take just about anything with a pleasant attitude. However, he's sensitive, and while he may keep trying his hardest, it's possible he's hurting on the inside.
Calix is a theatrical guy who may... exaggerate certain emotions or stories just because it's fun, or he's trying to get his way. He loves to be dramatic and mysterious just because of how it is like in the movies, or in the books. He's childish when trying to get something he wants if it is something like candy or the like, as he'll pout and beg. Calix has a great sense of humor, and knows how to get just about anybody into a good mood. He used to be a flirt when he was younger, but upon finding Hilda, he has yet to make even the subtlest of moves at another girl.
Calix adores any and all animals, besides bugs. From the big and strong to the small and furry, Calix often considers himself a natural with animals He's also quite good with kids thanks to his versatile sense of humor and constant energy. He's only good with teenage boys when it comes to Quidditch and girls, as most boys to click with him anywhere else. For girls, though, he could spend all day listening to their stories and reacting dramatically, or helping them pick out cute clothes or giving them advice on how to win over a guy.
Some very important things to remember, however, are that Calix becomes strongly attached to things, and while he can be wise in social situations, it does not mean he won't cry when his best friend has to move away, or when he has to give up his favorite book or collectible. Calix is very dramatic when he is devestated, and when he tries to make people believe he is happy when he clearly is not... well... people just notice, because his entire happy-go-lucky vibe dies. Calix cries at movies, leaps at all new opportunities, and loves food. When he's disappointed, Calix will make it clear. However, he's always ready to provide constructie criticism and listen to what you have to say.
Description:
Calix is the typical surfer dude in California, the golden boy of the school, the sunshine to every boring girl's cloudy life. And I do mean this quite literally. His skin is golden from years in the sun, yet not in the sickening metallic way that should be a clear signal to some people that they are far too acquainted with the tanning bed. His hair is a rich, honey blonde that falls in shimmering layers to his shoulders, so as not to appear like a mop on his head, nor a curtain. No, this is quite the stylish hair cut, with heavy bangs barely covering the top lids of his eyes in a stylish, right-directed swoop before framing his face and thinning out ever so slightly the further down his neck you go. When in a joking mood, Calix often remarks that the sun is often jealous of the brilliantly pure color of his blonde hair. His eyes are sky blue and framed by extremely thick lashes that has made his mother jealous on more than one occasion. Calix is six feet and four inches tall, and one-hundred-and-eighty pounds of gorgeousness. Yup, there's no question as to why he's called 'pretty boy', 'playboy', 'player', 'casanova', 'prince' and other various nicknames. But, were one to remove his shirt, which he'll happily do, one would find that he barely has a slight raise to point out where his abs should be. His brother's were always the body-builders, minus his brother Avel.
Calix always has a wide grin, and his teeth are white, but not the brilliantly blinding white like he wishes it was, because then not only would the sun be jealous of his hair, but also how blindingly bright his teeth are when he smiles, which is pretty much all the time. Calix has a piercing on his left ear which usually has a gold stud in it, despite Hilda's first reaction to it when she saw it.
Because it would make his brothers question his manliness, Calix does not wear make-up despite the curiosity to see how much thicker and longer he could make his eyelashes appear were he to use mascara. Hilda would probably beat him up anyways. Calix also never wears dresses or skirts unless goofing off with his brothers, so that's off his usual clothing list. Most of the time he goes shirtless to show off his slowly improving abs that still pale in comparison to his brothers'. Calix likes to wear board shorts, but faded, ripped up jeans are also his style, and if he's going semi-formal khakis work as well. If he's going dressing up for a date, despite the fact that Hilda never cares, he'll wear dark-wash jeans with no rips or tears at all, let alone fraying. As far as shirts go, Calix enjoys wearing immature t-shirts with or without the sleeves ripped off, and for slightly fancier occasions Hollister, Aeropostle, and the like are good for him too. When it gets cooler, he'll layer a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath his normal one, and when its winter he'll wear sweaters like any other typical guy. Calix also has a brown leather jacket for autumn, and a black trench-coat like creation with double columns of buttons for winter. For super-formal occasions Calix will go all out and usually where a tux, but if it isn't super formal, black slacks and a button up shirt and tie usually suffice for him. Usually Calix likes to wear bright colors like oranges, bright blues, reds, and the like. Warm colors also work for him, and this is a guy who is not afraid to also wear pink.

Calix ran a hand over the old gum ball machine in the rather peculiar diner that Hilda had first dragged him to. Miss Curse's had quite a delicious plate full of curly fries, Calix would admit, but the first time he had entered he'd been both flustered and scared. After all, there were sort of shrunken heads on the end of each curtain rod that crowned each dusty window. Hilda had settled down and was instantly served a cup of night-black coffee, appearing completely at home in the ancient, deadly diner, while Calix stood stiff-backed by the table before sinking into the chair with uncertainty. Since then he'd grown used to the diner, discovering that Hilda had named each of the shrunken heads despite calling his own attempts to do so 'childish'. After they'd been dating for a few years, Calix had gotten there before she did, and had gone to the gum ball machine to try his luck. Most of the capsules held plastic spiders, eyeballs, and gummy body parts, but just his luck that he got a fake diamond ring that kindergarteners proposed to their crushes with. Calix had taken it as a sign and instantly pocketed it and proposed to Hilda right in that diner because he'd thought the ring was a good omen.
How wrong he had been. She'd refused him in a monotone voice with just a hint of boredom. Then she took a sip of her coffee, stole one of his fries, popped it into her mouth, and then pulled out a key and tossed it at him, saying she finally got his copy for their apartment, and they finished dinner with him talking his mouth off to get over the awkwardness that clearly only he felt, and then they went home.
Through it all, Miss Curse had been watching, not that her name was really Miss Curse. It was actually Miss Madeline Curse, not that that was much improvement. But now he was back where he'd first tried to propose, looking over at the gum ball machine. He pulled out a velvety black box, opening it to reveal what lay within. This time it'll be for real, just like this ring, Calix thought to himself, clicking the box closed with a satisfied smile. Then a ghostly 'hm' came from behind him. It'd been two years since that day, and she knew.
She appeared with an eerie wind that she no doubt summoned herself, being a witch like he was a wizard. Except, unlike him, she was dressed much like the stereotypical witch thanks to the strange theme of her diner. She tore off her witch's hat to reveal a wavy tangled mass of auburn hair, gray eyes sparkling at what she had just seen Calix put away. "Two years, eh?" she asked. "I suppose most people would say they'd never thought to see a pretty boy get rejected, but we don't often say that because... you know?" Miss Curse smiled as she twirled her dark wand in her right hand. Calix smiled sadly, and then determination lit up within him. He was about to respond to her remarks when she continued, saying "Don't worry. Two years of growth for you and for her, and for both of you together. Besides, this time it's real. It's thought out, unexpected. And it's a beautiful ring. I wish you the best of luck." Then, before she left, she paused and turned around. "You're going to need it when she finds out you sent in her application to Hogwarts." Calix swallowed, nervously about to babble a response, but then she left, the 'staff room' door slamming behind her. Calix then inhaled deeply, putting the ring in his pocket before leaving. Now he was extremely worried.
He hadn't thought of that.
